Science, engineering and technology students intending to pursue postgraduate degrees in the U.K. now face extra security checks by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, according to the new visa rules that came into force on November 1, 2007.
The application, which should be made electronically via the foreign office website www.fco.gov.uk/ATAS, asks students to detail what their research area of interest is and why they wish to study it.
