offers class room and correspondence course for Post Graduate Diploma in Shipping Management and Associateship, beginning in July.
Post Graduate Diploma in Shipping Management: A two year course open to any graduate of a recognised University, not less than 20 years in age. Persons appearing for their final year degree examinations can obtain provisional admission.
Associateship: A one year course, open to persons not less than 20 years in age having minimum HSC or equivalent qualification rendering him eligible for admission to a college and presently engaged in shipping or allied industry, Customs, Ports and Govt. departments connected with shipping with minimum experience of 2 years. Candidates passing the Associateship Examination would be eligible to appear for the higher fellowship examination of the Institute.
The contents of the courses are specially designed and will be of great interest to those who wish to take up commercial shipping as a career, also those whose experience is confined to a specific field of shipping and who wish to broaden their understanding of the industry and all new entrants to the business of shipping.
These specialised courses will be helpful and benefit all those who are already working in or propose to join commercial organisations like ship-owners, shipping agents, shipbrokers, chartering agents, shipbuilders/ repairers, insurance companies, ports, import/export Houses, trade associations, multimodal transport operators, container leasing companies, commercial banks and Govt departments connected with shipping, customs, etc.
Examination centres at Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Vishakapatnam, Chennai, Kochi, Vascoda-Gama, Ahmedabad, Gandhidham, Dubai and any other place where 10 or more candidates opt for the examination.
