Career in Law

Law is a profession that will be around always, intertwined so much as it is with our lives. There are different careers one can look for in law, such as intellectual property rights (IPR), legal process outsourcing (LPO), taxation, corporate law, cyber law and criminal law.
IPR is said to be one of the most rewarding of law careers. It deals with patents, copyrights, designs and trade secrets. There’s scope for specialisation since companies need lawyers for registration and protection of trademarks, product patents, process patents and designs of equipment etc.
LPO dealS with litigation support, contract review, analytics and the like. This sector is expected to reach $15-20 billion by 2015. The salaries in this sector start high.
Corporate law includes work like drafting, vetting and negotiating contracts for a company, handling legal disputes and so on. Companies need legal assistance for taxation matters. Hence taxation law. Cyber crime has given rise to the need for cyber lawyers. Criminal law is a sector in which you can set up practice on your own.
