Clinical research is the systematic study of new drugs and vaccines and the like for treatment of diseases. For this, clinical professionals are employed who take the drug through a process before it is made available in the market. The entire process is aimed at making drugs safe and available at low cost.
Clinical research in India has taken off well in the past few years. As per statistics by leading publications/ market research agencies, India accounts for only about 3% of the global market. India is driving clinical research in the areas of Phase III and clinical data management. Experts also foresee a huge potential for pharmacovigilance in the coming years due to cost reasons.
