Travel Grants for PhD Students


Shastri Institute is offering travel grants for scholars in association with sici.org. sici is a Canada-India joint organization for improve the quality of PhD education. The grant is meant to assist scholars to participate in conferences and academic meetings through travel subsidies. The Shastri Institute will provide up to $1,200 to fund 50% of the scholars total travel costs (note that costs for visas, meals, per diem and accommodation are not eligible). A total of $10,000 is available for these grants in 2010-2011 (for July 2010 applicants).Grants are available to Canadian scholars for travel to/and/or in India and to Indian scholars for travel to/and/or in Canada. Applicants must have been invited to participate by an academic institution and be affiliated with, or travelling to a Shastri Institute member institution.
