Application for admission to various Postgraduate Degree / Diploma Programmes have been invited by Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chennai for the academic year 2010-2011 to the following Centers:

I. MADRAS VETERINARY COLLEGE, CHENNAI:

(A) M.V.Sc. in the following disciplines:

Animal Biotechnology, Animal Genetics and Breeding, Animal Husbandry Economics, Animal Nutrition, Animal Reproduction Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Livestock Production and Management, Livestock Products Technology, Poultry Science, Veterinary Anatomy and Histology, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension, Veterinary Biochemistry, Veterinary Clinical Medicine Ethics and Jurisprudence, Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Parasitology, Veterinary Pathology, Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, Veterinary Physiology, Veterinary Public Health, Veterinary Surgery and Radiology and Wild life Science.

III. FISHERIES COLLEGE AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE, THOOTHUKUDI:

(A) M.F.Sc. in the following disciplines:

Aquaculture, Aquatic Environment Management, Fish Biotechnology, Fisheries Economics, Fisheries Engineering and Technology, Fisheries Extension, Fish Processing Technology and Fisheries Resource Management.


(B) Ph.D. in the following disciplines:

Aquaculture, Fisheries Economics Fish Processing Technology and Fisheries Resource Management.


(C) Postgraduate Diploma in Fish Quality Management

Eligibility criteria for the courses are as follows: (For SC/ST candidates a minimum pass in repective crietria is sufficient)

1. M.V.Sc. / M.F.Sc.: A B.V.Sc. & A.H., / B.F.Sc. degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or any other University recognized as equivalent.
2. Ph.D.: Master’s degree under semester system or 70% aggregate.
3. Veterinary and Animal Sciences: .V.Sc. & A.H., degree and Master’s degree in the concerned field of specialization from a recognized University.
4. Fisheries Science: B.F.Sc. degree and Master’s degree in Fisheries Science or any other degree recognized as equivalent.
5. M. Phil In BioTechnology: Masters degree in the disciplines of Biological / Biomedical Sciences like Biotechnology, Animal Biotechnology, Medical Biotechnology, Environmental Biotechnology, Marine Biotechnology, Nanotechnology,     Molecular Biology, Gene Technology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Zoology, Environmental Sciences, Genetics, Marine Biology, Fisheries Sciences etc., from a recognized university with 60% aggregate marks or equivalent OGPA. 
6. PG Diploma In Bioinformatics: A graduate with any one of the following qualifications: B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.F.Sc., B.Sc.(Agri.), B.Sc.(Horti.), B.E., B.Tech., M.B.B.S., B.D.S., M.Sc., MCA or postgraduate degree with Physics / Chemistry /     Mathematics / Biotechnology / Biophysics / Botany / Zoology / Biology/ Biochemistry / Microbiology / Pharmacology / Computer Science/ Statistics of any recognized University with OGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 in trimester system or 7.0         out of 10.0 in semester system or 50% in conventional system.
7.  PG Diploma In Veterinary Laboratory Diagonosis / Companion Animal Practice / Wild Animal Disease Management: B.V.Sc. & A.H., degree of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University or any other University recognized      as equivalent with OGPA 3.0 out of 4.0 in trimester system or 7.0 out of 10.0 in semester system or 50% in conventional system.
8. PG Diploma In Fish Quality Management: B.F.Sc., B.V.Sc., B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.Sc. (Dairy Science), B.Sc. (Agi.), B.Sc. (Horti.), B.Sc. (Home Science) of four years duration, B.Tech (Food Technology) or Post-Graduate degree with  Food Science / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Zoology / Marine Biology / Coastal Aquaculture / Home Science of any recognized University with OGPA 3.00 / 4.00 in trimester or OGPA 7.0 / 10.0 in semester system or   50% in conventional system.
9. PG Diploma In Diversified Poultry Production (Distance Mode): B.VSc./ B.V.Sc & A.H., B.Sc (Agri) / B.Tech (Food Processing Technology) degree from a recognized University with an OGPA of 3.0/4.0 in trimester system or 7.0/10.0     in semester system or 50% in conventional system.
10. PG Diploma In Business Management in Animal and Fisheries Sciences (Part Time – Evening Course): Bachelor’s Degree in professional courses like B.V.Sc., B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.F.Sc., B.Sc., (Agri), B.E., B.Sc., (Horticulture),    M.B.B.S., B.L., or recognized University (or) equivalent (or) any Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Arts with an OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 in trimester system (or) 7.00 out of 10.0 in semester system (or) 50% in conventional system.

Separate application forms should be used for M.V.Sc. / M.F.Sc., Ph.D. (Veterinary) / Ph.D. (Fisheries) and M.Phil Biotechnology / PG Diploma in Bioinformatics / Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosis / Companion Animal Practice / Wild Animal Disease Management / Fish Quality Management.

Registration fee of Rs.500/- for other Communities and Rs.250/- for SC/ST for each course have to be paid, by means of crossed demand draft payable at Chennai  drawn in favour of the “FINANCE OFFICER, TANUVAS, CHENNAI- 600 051”.
