JAPANESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Japanese government offers to Indian nationals residing in India Scholarships for Research Studies. The subject in which scholarships would be awarded are given below:
 (1) Microprocessor Applications/Technology,(2) Opto-electronics ,(3) Fibre Optics,(4) Quality & Reliability Engineering (as applied to various systems like Electricity & Power,Railways,Heavy Industry, Heavy Electronics, Electronics & Communications etc.), (5) Robotics,(6) Laser Technology,(7) Bio-Technology,(8) Ship-Building,(9) Biological Oceanography,(10 Japanese Language & Literature,(11) Transportation & Information System Engg., (12)Fisheries,(13)Japanese Studies,(14) Earthquake Engg., (15) Management Studies, (16) Urban Development,
Duration:1 ½ to 2 years. Age Limit: below 35 years as on 1st April, of the year of award.
 Qualification(1) Japanese Language: Students who are enrolled in the Post Graduate Degree course in Japanese Language from a recognized university or completed undergraduate Degree Course in Japanese Language from a recognized university or Students who have completed undergraduate degree course in any subject from recognized university and who have completed Level 2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) conducted by japan.Foundation and have completed at least 3 years of Japanese Language study from a recognized university/Institute in India. (2) Ship Building: Bachelors degree in the relevant field with minimum 60% marks. Candidate should possess at least two consecutive years of practical research/teaching/work experience as in July.
 Value: maintenance allowance of 1,84,000 yen per month, arrival allowance of 25,000 yen ,Field Study allowance,tution and examination fees exempted , part of the medical expenses in Japan would be paid Accommodation would be arranged .Passage Cost: Tourist class air-ticket from India to Japan and back would be provided by the Japanese Government.
