Minority Scholarships

DEPARTMENT FOR THE WELFARE OF SC/ST/OBC/MINORITIES
 offers post Matric scholarship to the students belonging to schedule caste for pursuing further studies at post matriculation/post secondary (college/ university) level within India.
 Eligibility (i) SC students who parents/ guardians incomes from all sources does not exceed Rs. 1 lakh per annum, who are pursuing post matriculation/ post-secondary (college/university) level studies in Govt. Recognized Institutions during the current academic year.(ii) Students pursuing studies through correspondence courses are also eligible.(iii) All the children of the same family/ parents are also eligible subject to the Income limit of the parents. Students availing any other scholarship/stipend such as merit scholarships are not eligible for this scholarship.
Value of Scholarship: Value of Scholarship includes maintenance allowance additional allowance for students with disabilities, reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees, study tour charges, thesis typing/ printing charges, book allowance for students pursuing correspondence courses for complete duration of the course.
 The details are as follows:
 Maintenance Allowance:
 For Group 1: Degree and Post graduate level courses(including M.Phil, Ph.D and Post Doctoral research) in Medicines( Allopathic, Indian and other recognized systems of medicines), Engineering, Technology, Agriculture, Veterinary and Allied Sciences, Management, Business Finance, Business Administration and Computer Applications/Science. Commercial Pilot License (including helicopter pilot and Multi Engine rating) Couorse.Rs.740 for hostelers and Rs.330 for Day Scholars.
For Group II: Other professional and technical graduate and post graduate (including M.Phil PhD and Post Doctoral research) level courses in Group
1. C.A/ICWA/CS/etc.courses. All post graduate, graduates level diploma courses, all certificate level courses: Rs.510 for hostelers and 330 for day scholars.
 For Group III: All other courses leading to graduate or above degree (not covered Group 1& II.): Rs 355 for hostellers and Rs.185 for day scholars.
For Group Iv: All post matriculation level course before taking up graduation like classes XI and XII in 10+2 system and intermediate examination etc.not covered in Group II or III.ITI course , other vocational courses (if minimum required qualification to pursue the course is at least matriculation’s. 235 for hostellers and Rs.140 for day scholars.
Additional Allowances for SC students with disabilities, transport allowance for disabled students, escort Allowance, Special pay and other allowances are admissible as per rules in force.
Fees. Scholars are paid enrolment/registration, tuition, games, Union, Library, Magazine, Medical Examination and such other fees compulsorily payable by the scholar to the Institution/University/Board. Refundable deposit like caution money, security, deposit would however be excluded.
 Study Tours: Study Tour charges up to a maximum of Rs.1000/-per amnnum limited to the actual expenditure incurred by the student on transportation charges etc. is paid to the scholars studying professional and technical courses, provided that the head of the institution certifies that the study tour is essential for the scholar for completion to his/her course of study.

Thesis Typing/printing charges: Up to a maximum or Rs. 1000/-is paid to research scholarship on the recommendation of the Head of the Institution.
 Correspondence courses including distance and continuing education
Students pursuing such courses are also eligible for an annual allowance or Rs.750/-for essential/prescribed books, besides remorselessness of course fees.

FOUNDATION FOR ACADEMOC EXCELLENCE AND ACCESS (FAEA), B-41,Qutab institutional Area, New Mehrauli Road; New Delhi offers 50 scholarship to Sc/ST deserving students to pursue their higher studies who are currently studying in Class XII or have passed Class XII from a recognized Indian Board. or in the 1st year of the Undergraduate course (any discipline)in any institution of their choice in India. It aims to provide financial aid to the students, which includes tuition fee, maintenance allowance or hostel/mess charges and other allowances to cover travel clothing and books from socially and economically marginalised group which lack systematic access to centers of excellence in higher education.

 Merit Scholarship to College/Professional institute ion students belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Economically Depressed Sections (EDS)/Minorities:
 Eligibility Criteria for College/Professional Institution:
 1) Only Sc/ST/OBC/ED/Minorities students are eligible. Incase of Sc/ST Students they should obtain 60% or more marks.OBC/EDS/Minorities students should score 70% or more marks at Sr.Secondary Examination/ graduate level and get admission in recognized college/professional/ technical institutions.
 2) Scholarship would be granted to students of 3 year degree courses, post graduate studies at college level and professional courses of graduate degree and post graduate level Diploma studies.
 3) There shall be no limit of income for the applicant/guardians for grant of scholarship in respect of SC/ST students. However, family income limit of Rs.48, 000 p.a.is applicable for the parents/guardians belonging to OBC, Economically depressed section and minorities.
4) Students should have Sc/ST/OBC/EDS Minorities certificate issued by deputy Commissioner, Delhi.
5) The rate of scholarship would be reduced to 50% in case of a student who fails in the annual examination but continues studies except incases where the student fails to appear in the annual examination on medical grounds or due to natural or any other reasons beyond his/her control.
 6) International non-appearance in the annual examination would disqualify the student’s from the grant of scholarship during the next academic year
7) Students belonging to OBC/EDS/Minorities should not be in receipt of scholarship from any other sources.
 Merit scholarship are disbursed through’ Bearer cheques, which are issued by DSCST to individual students along with their parents. The Directorate of Hr.education would send institution wise list of eligible students indicating the name and amount payable to each.
