Merchant Navy Common Entrance Test

Board of Examinations for Seafarer Trust (BES) has been authorized by ‘The Directorate
General of Shipping’ (Ministry of Shipping) to conduct the CET.(Common Entrance Test for Merchant Shipping)

Common Entrance Test (CET) is conducted to help candidate apply to many institute across
India in one go. These tests not only increase the choice of institute for aspirants, but also help
them save their precious time and money. Common entrance exams are preferred over the
individual tests organized by institute.
All 10th, 12th & ITI students can make a career merchant ships. After the completiton of the course and experience in the field, a student can become an officer on board ships.

For: Govt. approved 34 different DG Shipping Institutes.

Programme: GP Rating Course

Duration: 6-months
No. of seats: 2300
Eligibility: Minimum 40% overall in 10th and minimum 40% in english either in 10th or 12th.
Age: Between 17.5 and 25 years
