Fellowships for Cultural Studies

MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT: Department of Culture awards Fellowships to outstanding Artistes in the fields of Literature, Indian Classical Music, Indian Classical Dance, Theatre, Visual Arts, Folk, Traditional and Indigenous forms of performing Arts.
 Under this Scheme, a total of 450 Fellowships are awarded each year for a period of two years, of which
a) 150 are Senior Fellowships having a value of Rs.6000 per month for Artistes in the age group of 40 and above;and
 b) 300 are Junior Fellowships having a value of Rs 3000 per month for the Artistes in the age group of 25-40;
 c) Selected candidates have to work in the Projects for which they are awarded Fellowships. They are to complete their Project Reports within two years and submit the same to the Department. no extension of time is permissible

MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT, Department of Education, New Delhi ,offers 20 Scholarship for Research in Classical Language i.e. Arabic and Persian of Rs.300/- per months for a period of 2years or up to the date of completion of the research work, which is earlier.
 Eligibility: Degree/Diploma in any classical language in the highest examination conducted by a University of State4 Government of a well established institution for a classical language which may be or is recognized for the purpose by the Central Governmemt.Age: Below 40 years.
Application should be sent in the prescribed proforma usually appearing in the leading newspapers during the month of November/December every year to the Under Secretary, National Scholarships Division (NS-2 Section) Department of Education, A-1/W3, Kasturba Gandhi Road, Barracks, New Delhi 110001.

The selected awardees are required to undergo advanced training on a full time basis for two years under a reputed Guru/Institute within one month of the award of Scholarship
Value:Rs.2000/-per month .Age: 18-25 as on 1st April
 The Scholarships are awarded for advanced training, the candidates are required to undergo a minimum of 5 years training with their Gurus/ Institutes. The Certificates to this effects in Part II of the Proforma duly singed by the present Gugu/Institute ad former Guru/Institute (if any) should be submitted along with the application.
 Note: The Gurus/Institute are requested to give this certificate only if the applicant has undergone training for a minimum period of five years. The training undergone need not be under the same Guru/Institute.
 2) Candidates of Visual Arts in all the fields except Sculpture should have minimum qualification of bachelor of Fine Arts or equivalent .In Sculpture no minimum qualification is prescribed.
3) A short note on Gharana/Sampradaya/Special School (Sakha) in case of Music and Dance may be indicated.
How to apply: Application in this regard have to be sent to the section officer, S and F Section, Department of Culture, at the above mentioned address.
 Note (a) Candidates who has already scholarship in any field under this scheme need not apply again.
 (b) The applications filled in regional languages must be accompanied with English or Hindi Translation.
