Associateship for young scientists
The department of biotechnology has initiated a programme on specialised training in overseas research institutions/laboratories in the niche areas of medical genetics, stem cell research, nanobiotechnology, transgenic animal models, agriculture biotechnology, bioengineering and bioenergy/energy bioscience. The duration of the award would be for a period of two months to one year (not more than one year). The associates would be entitled to (a)monthly associateship@ US$2400 or its equivalent in the country of study; (b) preparatory allowance of Rs 12000 (one time grant) and; (c) Cost of air passage in economy class by Air India for joining the overseas laboratory and back
