Ratan Tata fellowship
The fellowship will be for a period of up to eight months, preferably
starting October 1, 2008, and will be based at the Asia Research Centre at the LSE. The fellow will receive a monthly subsistence allowance of up to £1,500 a month and will be provided with office space and access to research facilities at the school. The fellow will be expected to engage in research on a topic under the themes: poverty, inequality, human development and social exclusion; quality of public life; regional disparities; identities - gender, ethnicity, language; and economy and environment.
• Requirements: Applicants should be from South Asia, that is, the SAARC region; hold a PhD or comparable qualifications and experience - the fellowship is not intended for students registered for a degree or diploma,nor is it intended for senior academics. Applicants should be established scholars in the social sciences with experience of research on South Asia.
