Women Scientists for societal programmes (WOS - B).This fellowship programme is initiative of the department of science and technology. Support will include a scholarship grant of Rs 15,000 per month for candidates with PhD, MTech, MS/ MD and Rs 10,000 per month for candidates having postgraduate degree for a period of two years. Grant for minor equipment, consumables, contingencies, travel and overheads will also be considered if found necessary under the work plan. Candidates selected for award of the fellowship are not expected to register for higher degree during the period of fellowship.The scholarship will be given for two years.The period may be extended to the third year in exceptional cases.
Indian nationals living in India and who are currently not employed in permanent position and who possess one of the following qualifications- PhD degree in science, master’s degree in engineering or technology, architecture, medicine or pharmacy; who have break in career for at least three years or more after having master’s degree in science or bachelor’s degree in engineering or medicine, architecture, or pharmacy.The applicant should be below the age of 50 years as on February 15, 2008.
