Turkish Scholarships

Turkish Government Fellowship for 2008-2009
Research scholarships are granted to those who will do scientific research in (i) agriculture (ii) biotechnology (iii) environmental engineering at Turkish Universities. The scholarship programme will start on October 1, 2008. The duration of the scholarships is for two to eight months. Travel expenses to and from Turkey have to be met by students. Candidates selected for the scholarships will be provided with free accommodation at state dormitories affiliated to ministry of national education. Students can take advantage of lowcost food in the dormitories the cost of which will be met by students only. Monthly scholarship is of 200 New Turkish Lira (ie Rs 6,666 approx). The Turkish government will meet the medical expenses for the scholars, except for long-term illnesses, complex operations, etc.
• Requirements:
Indian nationals residing in India, completed postgraduation with minimum 60% marks in relevant subjects; fluent communication skills in at least one language (Turkish, English or French); medically fit; below 45 years as on April 30, 2008 and should have completed graduate programmes lasting at least four years before April 30, 2008

On line applications may be accepted provided hard copy of the application along with enclosures reach the Ministry within five days after the last date.
