Eligibility
BA or B.Sc. degree under 10 + 2 + 3 pattern with minimum 45 per cent marks in Part III optional subjects. However, BA or B.Com. degree holders under liberalised scheme of Calicut University are eligible to apply.
For commerce, B.Ed. applicants should have passed M.com. with minimum 50 per cent marks. For computer science education, B.Ed. applicants should have passed MCA or M.Sc. in computer science or electronics with minimum 50 per cent marks.
Applicants shall opt as optional subject for the B.Ed. course only the subject of graduation with the following exemptions.
•Graduates in history, geography, economics, political science, Islamic history, sociology, philosophy, psychology will be eligible for admission to B.Ed. in social science.
•Graduates in statistics with mathematics as one of the subsidiary subjects will be eligible for admission to B.Ed. in mathematics.
•Graduates in home science, geology with physics or chemistry as subsidiary subjects will be eligible for admission to B.Ed. in physical science and those with botany, zoology, life science as subsidiary subjects will be eligible for admission to B.Ed. in natural science.
•Those who possess B.Sc. in biochemistry or plant science will be eligible for admission to B.Ed. in natural science.
•Those who possess B.Sc. in polymer chemistry or industrial chemistry will be considered for admission to B.Ed. in physical science.
•Those who possess B.Sc. in agriculture with biochemistry and zoology as subsidiaries will be eligible for admission to B.Ed. in natural science.
•Those who possess BA in functional English will be eligible for B.Ed. admission in English.

Application forms, prospectus and other details can be downloaded from www.universityofcalicut.info. Applicants can only be made online. Filled-in applications along with challan for Rs.100 should reach the Office of the Director of University Teacher Education Centres, Department of Education, Unviersity of Calicut – 673635 on or before September 14.
Fee should be remitted at Calicut University fee counter or Treasuries in Malappuram district or selected branches of SBT.
Selection is based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Special weightage will be given to postgraduates except in commerce and computer science.
Weightage will be given to the applicants who have taken degree from the Calicut University, and those who belong to districts under the jurisdiction of the University of Calicut will be given a weightage of 15 per cent of the marks scored by the candidate in part III of BA /B.Sc. or PG examination. Fee to be remitted at the time of admission is Rs.25,305 including tuition fee
