The aim is to provide Indian faculty and professionals the opportunity to do research on contemporary issues and concerns to contribute to the creation of knowledge. The fellowships will be for a duration of up to eight months and will provide opportunities for research. Recipients will be affiliated to a US university or research institution. The fellowships provide round-trip economy class air travel, a monthly stipend, accident and sickness programme for exchanges per US g ove r n m e n t guidelines, a modest settlingin allowance, and a professional allowance. Subject to availability of funds and Fulbright regulations, grantees may be provided with travel and a dependent allowance for one accompanying dependent. Requirements: Indian faculty should have a PhD degree or equivalent published work with at least five years of college/university level teaching experience; professionals outside academics should have a PhD degree or equivalent published work with recognised professional standing and at least five years relevant experience; if employed, applications should be routed through a proper channel; should enclose a recent significant publication (copy of paper/article); and preferably be 50 years of age or under.
