Candidates studying courses in natural/ basic sciences (BSc, BSc Hons, Integrated MSc) in any one of the recognised institutes in India. The scholarships are available annually. Each eligible candidate will receive annual scholarship of total value of Rs 80,000. Selected candidates will be supported for a maximum period of five years starting first year BSc, BSc Hons, integrated course leading to MSc or the completion of the course, whichever is earlier.
Who can apply?
Candidates who have (a) Obtained aggregate marks in the top one per cent in the board exams in both class 10 and 12. Details in table given in the notification (b) Performance within the top 10,000 ranks in Joint Entrance Examination of IIT JEE, AIEEE and CBSE-Medical, KVPY fellows, NTSE scholars, Olympiad medallists and Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search fellows and joining degree courses in natural/ basic sciences in any recognised institute. In the current format, courses in engg, medicine, tech and other professional courses are not included (c) Clearance of competitive exams conducted by institutes listed in Table 3 (mentioned in the notification) and all candidates securing admissions and joining courses natural/ basic sciences conducted by Indian ISER, NISER, Integrated MSc courses in IIT, Department of Atomic Energy-Centre for Basic Science course from the academic year 2008-2009
