Modellers - They make the models for animation. Must have a solid understanding of anatomy, form and volume.
Story board artists: Story board artist is job is visualize the story by quick pencil drawing or in computer.This job required strong drawing skills

Character animators - They bring characters to life by giving emotion in addition to physical action.

Background artists - Background artist makes the background painting according the story. They should have knowledge in photoshop, drawing and painting

Layout artists - Layout artist's job is to decide where to fix the lighting and camera angles and give direction to background artists for making suitable background.

In-between animators - Fresher are suitable for this category. Freshers from animation institutes usually join as in-between animators

Compositing artist - Making the final scene from the different frames of animation

Visual effects artist- Responsible for giving live actions to a animation movie

Audio and video specialist - Designing the sound and visuals

Visualizers – Visualize the script and create basic designs for the project.
Texture artists - Apply surface to the 3D character, object or environment.

Rigging artists - This is the important job in 3D animation. Rigging artist make the skeleton of the character and movement of bones.

Clean-up artists - They check accuracy of each drawing.

Lighting artists - Lighting artists are responsible for each frames color, shade etc.

Editors - They edit the visuals with softwares like Avid and Final Cut Pro.
Key frame animators - Draw pictures of a movement’s beginning and end.

Rendering artists - They combine all data such as models, textures, animation, lighting, etc and output the correct combination of animation.

Image Editors - Image Editors combine the visual and voice

Compositors - They combine different parts of an animation movie and makes a single movie. This work also involved in movies. For example when a character jumps from the top of the mountain, in this case character may jump from the 6feet high, but compositors combine the big mountain instead real one.

Visual effects (commonly shortened to VFX) Now a days Visual effects plays a important role in movies and animation. visual effects artist should be deep knowledge in visual effect software like adobe after effect
