For admission to the MCA Programme of 6 semesters, applicant should have a pass in any Bachelor Degree under 10+2+3 pattern and should have studied Core Mathematics either at +2 level or Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Oriented subject as one of the subjects at the Degree level. Applicant should also have a pass in the Distance Education Entrance Test (DEET) conducted by Anna University
M.Sc IT: For admission to 4-semester MSc -Information Technology, applicant should have a pass in B.Sc (Mathematics/Computer Science/Information Technology/Software Engineering/Electronics) or B.Sc (Physics/ Statistics/ Chemistry) or B.E.S with Mathematics or Computer Science as allied subject or B.Sc Applied Sciences (Computer Technology/ Information Technology/ Computer Systems Maintenance and Networking) or B.C.A or B.E/B.Tech (any branch), the Bachelors degree being taken in the 10+2+3 pattern. Applicant should also have passed the Distance Education Entrance Test (DEET) conducted by Anna University. The Cost of the Application from is Rs.650/- payable in cash/Demand Draft (as applicable), drawn in favour of ‘The Director, Centre for Distance Education, Anna University, Chennai-600025’.
Printed application forms can be obtained in person from the Director, Centre for Distance Education, Anna University, Chennai - 600 025. Candidates obtaining the application form from the Centre for Distance Education can submit the same immediately if they bring two copies of passport size photograph and attested photo copies of certificates of his/her qualification and get the Hall Ticket on the same day

Application can also be downloaded from the website of the University http://cde.annauniv.edu. In such cases a DD for Rs. 650/- has to be enclosed with the filled application. Only one application has to be submitted.
Those awaiting results of the qualifying examination may also apply for admission subject to production of copy of the relevant Provisional/Degree certificate at the time of admission.
Completed applications should reach the Director, Centre for Distance Education, Anna University, Chennai - 600 025 latest by 7.1.2011. As per the Information Brochure available at http://cde.annauniv.edu/pdf/Brochure.pdf, those with AMIE or similar qualification awarded by Professional Institutes approved by MHRD are also eligible for admission to MBA/MCA Degree Programme of Distance Mode, if they have two years of experience after obtaining AMIE or similar certificate. TANCET score is also valid for admission to MBA/MCA Degree Programme of Distance Mode. However, such candidates have to apply for admission in the prescribed form and the admission is subject to validity of TANCET score. They can also appear for the Distance Education Entrance Test and compete with others.

Entrance Test: Distance Education Entrance Test (DEET) will be conducted from 10 am to 12 noon on 30.01.2011 at selected centres, subject to availability of minimum number of candidates.
Study Centres: Study Centres will be operated in selected cities in Tamil Nadu only where there is sufficient number of candidates. MCA and M.Sc IT will be offered in Chennai only.
A limited number of Question Papers of the Entrance Tests of previous years are available for sales and the same can be obtained in person from Centre for Distance Education, Anna University, Chennai 600 025 only, on payment of Rs. 25/- each.
