Applications for spot admission to M.Ed degree course are invited from eligible candidates in the colleges affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University for the academic year 2010-11.

Eligibility:
B.Ed Degree recognized by Mahatma Gandhi University, in the subject concerned, with a minimum of 55% or CGPA 2.2
SC/ST candidates need only a pass in the qualifying examination.
SEBC and OEC candidates will be given a relaxation of 3 % and 5% respectively in the prescribed minimum marks.
Mode of Selection
The spot admission to M.Ed course, under Merit and Management categories, shall be based on a Rank list prepared by the MG University.
Bonus Marks:
15 marks will be given to candidates who possess First Class PG degree, 10 marks for Second Class PG degree and 5 marks for Third Class PG degree in the optional subject concerned in the B.Ed degree. Bonus of 15 marks shall be awarded to the Ex-servicemen and widows and children of Jawans.
Teachers Quota:
5% of the total seats under merit quota is reserved under Teachers quota. Teachers who are working at Aided/Government Schools at the time of notification only are eligible to be considered for admission under this category. Marks secured in the Qualifying Examination (B.Ed.), the bonus marks given for the class secured at the P.G. Degree Examination, if any, and bonus of 1 mark each for every year of approved teaching experience subject to a maximum of 10 marks. For less than one year of teaching experience 0.1 mark will be awarded for every completed month of service. Teaching experience after successful completion of the B Ed course will only be considered for weightage in this regard.

A sum of Rs.350/- for general candidates. Rs.150/- for SC/ST candidates, and a late fee of Rs.250/- shall be remitted to the University fund by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, Mahatma Gandhi University payable at SBT MGU campus branch towards registration fee.
Registration fee can also be remitted by way of pay-in-slip at the University Cash Counter / FRIENDS Janasevana Kendra. DD / pay-in-slip in original shall be attached to the application. Filled in applications shall be forwarded to the Director, College Development Council along with the following documents:
1) Copies of mark list of B Ed – self attested.
2) Copy of Degree Certificate or Provisional Degree Certificate – self attested.
3) Copy of SSLC – self attested.
4) Copy of Certificate to prove caste / community – self attested (Applicable to only those candidates who claim reservation).
5) Certificate to prove teaching experience (In the space ear marked in the application form for the certification).
6) Copies of such other certificates as Ex-Serviceman / Ward of Ex-Serviceman /Wife of late Ex-Serviceman / Sports person / Physically Challenged.
7) Copy of eligibility certificate in the case of candidate who passed the qualifying degree from Universities outside Kerala.
The last date for submitting filled up applications for spot admission in the office of the DCDC is 27.06.2011.
