Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, has invited applications for admission to Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) course of academic session 2011-12 in the following subjects:

Eligibility :
1. The minimum eligibility condition is Master’s Degree in the concerned subject from Kurukshetra University or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto with at least 55% marks. The condition of marks in the Master’s Degree shall be relaxable upto 50% in the case of university appointed or approved teachers with at least three years service as such.
2. For Scheduled Castes Candidates :
Minimum eligibility condition will be pass marks in the qualifying examination i.e. Master’s Degree in the respective subject.
3. 5% relaxation in minimum eligibility condition will be given to Blind/Physically and Visually handicapped candidates.
4. There shall be no rounding of percentage of marks from 54.5% and above to 55%.
5. Admission will be made by the Departmental Committee(s) in accordance with rules & regulations and the criteria laid down for admission.
Application Forms:
Application forms can be obtained at a cost of Rs.600/- (Rs. 150/- for SC/BC/Blind Candidates of Haryana) at the KUK Counter. Application cost can also be obtained by paying Rs.650- (Rs.200/- for SC/BC / Blind Candidates of Haryana) by Regd. Post from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra-136 119
Prospectus and Application Form can be downloaded from the Website : www.kuk.ac.in (Such forms must be accompanied with DD of Rs.600/-(Rs.150/- for SC/BC/Blind Candidates of Haryana) in favour of Registrar, KUK or amount may be deposited in any CBS Branch of Punjab National Bank in India. Original Deposit Slip/DD must be attached with downloaded Form).
Application on the prescribed Admission Form attached to this Prospectus is to be
submitted duly filled in and complete in all respects in the office of the
Chairperson of the concerned Department, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.
Completed applications are to be attached with:
(a) Certificate of qualifying examination;
(b) Matriculation or equivalent examination certificate, in support of date of birth, and 10+2 certificate;
(c) Certificate in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes. Certificate of Backward Classes and affidavit of Creamy Layer;
(d) Residence Certificate in case of candidates claiming to be bonafide residents of Haryana (if applicable);
(e) Admit Card for Entrance Test;
(f) Acknowledgement Card, bearing postage stamp of Rs. 6/-;
(g) Employer’s Certificate in case of employee;
(h) Self addressed envelope bearing stamp of Rs.5/-.
Last date for receipt of Application Form : 30.09.2011 (by 5.00 p.m.)
Date of Entrance Test (in the concerned Department) : 07.10.2011 at 11.00 a.m.
A candidate can also submit his/her Admission Form for M.Phil. in concerned Department upto one day before the Entrance Test with a late fee of Rs.200/-. This fee can be deposited in any CBS Branch of Punjab National Bank in India or Deposited in Oriental Bank of Commerce, University Campus, Kurukshetra.
