Applications in the prescribed format have been invited from eligible candidates for admission to the Integrated MPhil - PhD and Direct PhD programme, 2012 (from December 2011 onwards) under various faculties of the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, Kerala.
Candidates shall carry out their work in the Department of the University situated at the University Head Quarters, Kalady except for Urdu at Regional Centre, Koyilandy, under a recognized guide for Integrated MPhil-PhD. programme in one of the following subjects:

Eligibility:
Candidates who possess Master’s Degree in the subject concerned or in the related subjects or subjects specified by the Department with not less than 55% marks / B+ (B Plus) grade of SS University or equivalent degree of any other Indian or Foreign University recognized by this University are eligible to apply for the Integrated MPhil - PhD programme. A relaxation of 5% marks is allowed as per UGC guidelines in the case of candidates belonging to SC / ST communities. Students who have MA Degree in English / Hindi / Malayalam / Sanskrit and Comparative Literature and Linguistics can apply for Interdisciplinary course in Translation Studies. Those candidates awaiting results can also apply. However, such candidates shall produce their PG mark lists and qualifying certificates within three months from the date of admission.
Related subject:
Related subject can be in any discipline having some converging issues with the native subject offered by the department concerned. Candidates seeking admission from a related subject can be admitted only if his / her research is of an interdisciplinary nature. The Research Committee of the department will ensure it.
Age Limit:
Age limit for admission to Integrated MPhil - PhD programme is fixed at 35. The applicants shall not have crossed the age of 35 as on the date of notification granting exemption to teachers working in Universities and aided / Govt. colleges and to Direct PhD candidates.
Admission:
Admission to the Integrated MPhil-PhD programme shall be on the basis of an entrance examination and interview conducted by the University. UGC / JRF qualified candidates, teachers of Universities and teachers of Government and Aided Colleges with a minimum of 2 published works in referred research journals and candidates with MPhil are exempted from the entrance examination.
Those candidates who possess the MPhil Degree of this University with B+ grade or equivalent MPhil degree of other Universities recognized by the University and who want to register for the PhD. programme can seek direct registration for the PhD course, subject to their fulfilling the other relevant conditions.
