National
Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA)
The National Institute of advanced
studies in Architecture (NIASA), pune, an Academic Unit of the Council of Architecture (C0A)),is
conducting a national Aptitude test in Architecture (NATA) for admission to
first year of five year Bachelor of Architecture(B.Arch) degree
course for all Architecture institution in the country,Includeing NITs,IITs,Govt
institutions, Govt –aided Institutions,Universites,Deemed Universities and private Universities ,established by a
Central or State legislature and other private Institutions.
Plus Two students with Mathematics as a
subject of examination with the lest of 50% aggregate marks can opt for this
Aptitude Test in Architecture.NATA measures aptitude of the applicant in the
field of Architecture. The test is two parts. One paper based on the drawing
test for two hours and computer based online aesthetic sensitivity test for one
hours. The test measures aptitude of the candidates through two sections is a
paper based section for drawing and computer based section for aesthetic
sensitivity.
The primary emphasis in scoring the
drawing section is on the candidates drawing, sensitivity to colours and their
composition, imagination and observation skill. In memory drawing, the
candidate’s sense of proportion & perspective is evaluates\d. The
candidates score will depend on his /her predominance on the questions given
and on the number of questions answered in the time allotted.
As per C0a rules, a candidate applying to
any school/college of Architecture in India should have achieved 40%score in
the total NATA score , i.e. at least 80/200, for consideration of admission
into first year B.Arch. The candidate’s scores shall be valid for a period of
two years for the purpose of admission to any Architecture Institution.
