Pilot study admission Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA),

Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA), Fursatganj Airfield, Distt. Amethi, Uttar Pradesh-229 302, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation Govt. of India, has invited applications for Entrance 2017, for admission to Commercial Pilot License (CPL) Course for issue of CPL with Multi–engine endorsement and Instrument Rating (IR) on Multi-engine Aircraft’, offered by the Institute for batches starting in July 2017 / Aug 2017 / Jan 2018/ Feb 2018.

There are a total of 150 seats for the course, of which, 75 are under the General category, 23 for SC, 11 for ST and 41 for OBC. The course duration is 18 months, which may get extended. 

Eligibility

Applicant should be of 17 years of age at the time of joining then course. 

There is no upper age limit, but for drop in year, applicant has to produce Affidavit. General applicants should have passed English at 10+2 level with minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics & Physics. SC / ST / OBC applicants should have passed English at 10+2 level with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Mathematics & Physics. 

Selection Process

Selection process includes Online Written Test, Viva/Interview and Pilot Aptitude Test. The Written Test will be held at selected centres on 14th May 2017 (Sunday). The list of centres is available at, An applicant can give option for three centers as first, second and third choice. IGRUA may cancel any Center if numbers of applicants for the Center are inadequate.  For the written test, there will be objective type questions only of 10+2 level from General English, Mathematics, Physics, Reasoning & Current Affairs. There will not be any negative marking for incorrect answers.

Applicant will be shortlisted for the next stage of the selection process based on the scores in the test. The cut-off marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates in the written test will be 5% less from the cut off marks secured by the last candidate in the General category.

Interview/Viva:

All short listed Candidates will be required to produce following documents in original, along with one photocopy of each document at the time of interview, starting on 12th June 2017 (Monday) and continuing up to 23rd June, 2017.

Pilot Aptitude Test / Psychometric Test:

Only successful candidates in Pilot Aptitude / Psychometric Test shall qualify for final selection. No relaxation criteria will be applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates in Pilot Aptitude/Psychometric Test. 

SC / ST candidates will be reimbursed only once, 2nd Class to and fro rail fare on production of tickets from their registered address to Raebareli to appear for Interview / Pilot Aptitude Test.

All Candidates must comply eligibility criteria by given date for Interview/Aptitude Test.

Final result will be declared on 29th June, 2017.

All Selected Candidates including SC / ST / OBC will be required to pay commitment money of Rs. 2 Lacs which is non-refundable but adjustable against the total fee, by 10th July 2017 to secure their seat.

In case SC/ST and OBC candidates do not qualify even after 5% relaxation in the Entrance Written test, the seats would be de-reserved for General Category.

Application Fee

Application fee is Rs. 6000/- for general and OBC candidates, to be paid either through internet banking, debit or credit cards or through Bank Challan payable at any branch of State Bank of India using the challan that can be generated while applying online. SC & ST applicants are exempted from payment of Application Fee. Before filling up Online Application, applicant must be ready with a scanned image of recent colored photograph of applicant, scanned signature of applicant (file size of 80KB (maximum) in JPEG format only),e-mail Id, mobile No & mark sheets for 10th and 12th.

Applicants are first required to Register with their name, date of birth, e-mail ID and Mobile Number. After successful registration, applicant will receive password on registered mobile no and user id on Registered Email Id.  Data entered can be edited before submitting. Data cannot be edited after clicking on submit and fee payment.

After clicking on Submit & Ready to pay button, once the form is completed and verified by the applicant, he/she will be redirected to Payment Gateway via SBI gateway for application fee payment. The applicant will choose the payment mode for fee payment- as online or offline payment (Challan) from multiple option. Challan mode of payment is available only from SBI Payment Gateway. Applicant has to generate Challan by selecting the SBI branch under ‘Other Payment Modes’ and submit the same to any of the SBI branch.

Last date for online filing of application is 12th April 2017 for fee payment by bank challan and 22nd April 2017 for fee payment by online mode

Those awaiting their results can also apply, subject to production of result at the time of admission if they get a call for the same. Correspondence courses are not acceptable. Those holding degree/ diploma (night shift) can apply if it is a regular degree/ diploma. 

Admit cards

Admit Cards can be downloaded on or after 4th May 2017. The admit card can be downloaded from Institue website  withe login ID and password generated during registration process. Admit cards will serve as a valid identity for attending Interview / Aptitude test and must be preserved till joining. Selected candidates may join with class II medical. However they will have to clear & submit Class-I Medical Fitness Certificate subsequently. The List of Centers/Doctors for Class-I & II medical is available at DGCA Website

Training fee will be Rs. 38 Lacs, payable in four quarterly instalments. The case for levy of service tax is subjudice and if confirmed by Court, the candidate will have to pay subsequently the same at applicable rates. Additional expenditure for about Rs. 1.50 Lac will have to be met towards cost of Uniform, Study Material, Navigation Computer, Head Phones etc. The training fee and other expenditure is same for all category candidates. Separate Hostels are there for boys and girls. Messing and hostel accommodation within the campus (on twin sharing basis), is provided for which, the approximate charges per month would be Rs. 10,000/-.

Candidates can also opt for B.Sc. (Aviation) Degree from Chatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University Kanpur, being conducted simultaneously with CPL Course. Duration of this course will be 03 years.
