NCC Special entry scheme: Age Limit : 19 to 25 years (not born earlier than 02 Jul. 83 and not later than 01 Jul. 89) The criteria for NCC C Certificate holders to appear directly for SSB for Short Service Course (Non Technical) at Officers Training Academy, Chennai: (a) Education Qualification: Degree of a recognized University or equivalent with an aggregate of 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years. (b) Service in NCC : Should have served for minimum two academic years in the senior Division of NCC. (c) Grading : Should have obtained a minimum of B Grade in C Certificate Exam. The year 2008-2009 for SC/ ST students to undertake advanced studies and research in sciences, engineering and technology, humanities and social sciences in Indian universities and colleges. There are 1,333 slots for the scheduled castes and 667 slots for scheduled tribes every year for all subjects. 50 per cent of the fellowships would be awarded to female candidates. Financial assistance will be provided to students to pursue studies leading to MPhil and PhD degree (full time) in science, engineering and technology, humanities and social sciences by the University Grants Commission.
