INLAKS Scholarships

Inlaks scholarships are awarded for degrees at top American, European and UK institutions in all kind of subjects, except engineering, computer science, urban planning, business studies, medicine, public health, Indian studies and history. The duration of the scholarship is up to two years. It covers for the period granted tuition fees, adequate living expenses and one-way travel. In case of specific programmes the financial coverage will be discussed directly with the candidate. Those opting for courses lasting for more than two years ie PhD, will have to seek funding from other sources. Scholarship will not be awarded to candidates whose proposed course of study or specific project requires field trips back to India during tenure. Manipal University Scholarships

MANIPAL University announced freeships and scholarships for deserving candidates appearing for the 2008 admissions.The freeships are for candidates admitted to MBBS, BDS, BE and B Pharm courses. 100 per cent freeships are offered to candidates within the first 100 ranks of the merit list. Also, admitted candidates with ranks between 101 and 500 and with an annual gross family income less than or equal to Rs.2 lakh are offered 100 per cent freeship. Eligible candidates have to produce their family income certificate by the concerned tehsildar.

WOMEN SCIENTIST FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME

Women Scientists for societal programmes (WOS - B).This fellowship programme is initiative of the department of science and technology. Support will include a scholarship grant of Rs 15,000 per month for candidates with PhD, MTech, MS/ MD and Rs 10,000 per month for candidates having postgraduate degree for a period of two years. Grant for minor equipment, consumables, contingencies, travel and overheads will also be considered if found necessary under the work plan. Candidates selected for award of the fellowship are not expected to register for higher degree during the period of fellowship.The scholarship will be given for two years.The period may be extended to the third year in exceptional cases. The Central Institute of Fisheries, Nautical and Engineering Training (CIFNET), Kochi, has invited applications for an entrance test to be held on June 8 at Kochi for admission to its Bachelor of Fishery Science (Nautical Science) course. The four-year programme is affiliated to the Cochin University of Science and Technology. Entry qualification is Plus Two with a minimum 50 per cent marks in mathematics and science.
